Khmer New Architecture

I’m fascinated with lost or forgotten things. Silks, clothing, places, stories. From the early 1900s to the 1960s Kep was a thriving coastal resort town for Cambodian and French elites. Bohemians, artists, wealthy roaming travellers. All gathered here to escape the heat of Phnom Penh and in their escaping they constructed the most amazing villas. These holiday homes were abandoned and stripped of any valuable materials during the Khmer Rouge years, and have been left to the entropy and the elements. They show me that good design never fades.
